This is the key to our rating guide:
Score:
1 Call the board of health!
2 We won't be back.
3 Average. We would eat there again, but not recommended
4 Recommended. We'll be back.
5 You can't miss this one!
We're working on this scale so check back once in a while.
We take into account the type of establishment that we're in, and their price range. We expect a higher level of service at the Ritz than at the Olive Garden. A 3 at the Ritz would mean we had average service for the Ritz (linen table cloths and napkins, utensil replacement, fast busing, table crumbing, etc.) while a 3 at the Olive Garden would be prompt and courteous service, reasonable wait times, and not being spilled upon. So, everything is relative. Our moods will probably affect the ratings of the establishments that we patronize.
If we're in a great mood when we arrive, as long as the restaurant performs well, they may receive a better score than the same meal served to us when we're grumpy. We're only amatuer reviewers, doing this for our own memories and for the occasional web surfer who happens to live in Red Bay, Alabama.
After our 100th review, can we turn pro?
